Ken Ishikawa - Death

Death

Ken Ishikawa collapsed at a dinner banquet, after a day of golf, and was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead according to his mentor, Go Nagai. After Ishikawa's death, illustrator Naoto Sushima released the manga Getter Robo Hien: The Earth Suicide, which was based on drafts and notes Ishikawa had written before his death, in 2007.

Famous quotes containing the word death:

As deaths have accumulated I have begun to think of life and death as a set of balance scales. When one is young, the scale is heavily tipped toward the living. With the first death, the first consciousness of death, the counter scale begins to fall. Death by death, the scales shift weight until what was unthinkable becomes merely a matter of gravity and the fall into death becomes an easy step.
    Alison Hawthorne Deming (b. 1946)

Let those who desire a secure homeland conquer it. Let those who do not conquer it live under the whip and in exile, watched over like wild animals, cast from one country to another, concealing the death of their souls with a beggar’s smile from the scorn of free men.
    José Martí (1853–1895)

    your antlers like seaweed,
your face like a wolf’s death mask,
your mouth a virgin, your nose a nipple,
your legs muscled up like knitting balls,
your neck mournful as an axe....
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)
