Coaching LeBron James At St. Vincent-St. Mary High School
The incident at Central Michigan had essentially blackballed Dambrot from college coaching. In 1998, he became the head coach at St. Vincent–St. Mary HS in Akron, Ohio. During his three seasons there, he guided the Fighting Irish to a 69–10 record. During the last two years of his tenure as coach there, future NBA star LeBron James was on his squad, and they won two consecutive state championships, as well as were nationally ranked. “If youre anxious for to shine in the high esthetic line as a man
of culture rare,
You must get up all the germs of the transcendental terms, and plant
them everywhere.
You must lie upon the daisies and discourse in novel phrases of your
complicated state of mind,
The meaning doesnt matter if its only idle chatter of a
transcendental kind.”
—Sir William Schwenck Gilbert (18361911)
“It will be a great day when our schools get all the money they need and the Air Force has to hold a bake sale to buy a bomber.”
