Karns High School

Karns High School is a public high school in the Karns community of Knox County, Tennessee administered by the Knox County Schools public school district.

A growing population in western Knox County required its establishment in 1913; prior to this time, students were assigned to Central High School, located several miles away in nearby Knoxville. As of the 2008-2009 academic year there were about 1,900 enrolled students.

Since 1995, Karns High School has educated students in grades 9 through 12. In 2008, the school underwent construction to add additional cafeteria to serve the influx of new students.

Famous quotes containing the words high and/or school:

Come Sleep! Oh Sleep, the certain knot of peace,
The baiting-place of wit, the balm of woe,
The poor man’s wealth, the prisoner’s release,
Th’indifferent judge between the high and low.
    Sir Philip Sidney (1554–1586)

Green, green is El Aghir. It has a railway station,
And the wealth of its soil has borne many another fruit:
A mairie, a school and an elegant Salle de Fetes.
Such blessings, as I remarked, in effect, to the waiter,
Are added unto them that have plenty of water.
    Norman Cameron (b. 1905)
