  • 2005 English cricket season: Twenty20 Cup:

• Football (soccer): In the 2005 Major League Soccer All-Star Game, the MLS All-Stars defeat Fulham of the English Premiership 4–1 at Columbus Crew Stadium in Columbus, Ohio. New England Revolution striker Taylor Twellman scores a goal and is named the game's MVP, while Jeff Cunningham of the Colorado Rapids scores twice after coming on in the 68th minute.
