Julia Bradbury - Early Years

Early Years

Bradbury's English Derbyshire-born, steel-industry father, Cambridge graduate Michael Bradbury, and Greek mother were in the Republic of Ireland when Bradbury was born. The family returned to Britain, where she attended primary school in Edith Weston, Rutland, followed by King Edward VII School in Sheffield, where her father worked for British Steel and her mother ran a fashion business. Bradbury attended acting classes, and took part as a child in the Crucible Theatre's stage production of Peter Pan, starring Joanne Whalley and Paula Wilcox.

Bradbury left school at 16 after O-levels and worked in advertising in various capacities, including a stint with the family business.

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or years:

I have always had something to live besides a personal life. And I suspected very early that to live merely in an experience of, in an expression of, in a positive delight in the human cliches could be no business of mine.
    Margaret Anderson (1886–1973)

No good poetry is ever written in a manner twenty years old, for to write in such a manner shows conclusively that the writer thinks from books, convention and cliché, not from real life.
    Ezra Pound (1885–1972)
