Biography
As a child, Mancell learned to play the piano, drums and guitar and was a "rabid record geek". The exposure of playing music in different types of bands (such as punk rock, jazz, marching bands, orchestras, etc.) combined with being a fan of many genres led Mancell to pursue a composing career. He was encouraged by his college professors to move to Los Angeles to write music for film and television. Mancell's first cousin is Bobby Ritchie, better known as Kid Rock.

“As we approached the log house,... the projecting ends of the logs lapping over each other irregularly several feet at the corners gave it a very rich and picturesque look, far removed from the meanness of weather-boards. It was a very spacious, low building, about eighty feet long, with many large apartments ... a style of architecture not described by Vitruvius, I suspect, though possibly hinted at in the biography of Orpheus.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
