Early Life
Born on November 15, 1989, Jonalyn is the eldest of 4 kids from Marikina. She started joining singing contest on an early age. She has won first runner-up in "Birit Bulilit" of IBC-13 as a child and in "MTB Teen Pop Star" wherein her winning piece was Mariah Carey’s Never Too Far. Growing up, Jonalyn, much like any aspiring singer, admired Mariah Carey, Regine Velasquez, Whitney Houston, Kyla, and Beyoncé. Viray cites Kyla as another idol saying she "inspired to get up there and do what did."

Famous quotes containing the words early and/or life:
“Progress would not have been the rarity it is if the early food had not been the late poison.”
—Walter Bagehot (1826–1877)
“You are told a lot about your education, but some beautiful, sacred memory, preserved since childhood, is perhaps the best education of all. If a man carries many such memories into life with him, he is saved for the rest of his days. And even if only one good memory is left in our hearts, it may also be the instrument of our salvation one day.”
—Feodor Dostoyevsky (1821–1881)
