Location
John Cabot University is located in the neighborhood of Trastevere--literally meaning "beyond the Tiber" or across the river in this sense. The campus is near the compound of the Italian National Academy of Sciences. The University is composed of two campuses: The Guarini Campus on Via della Lungara, and the Tiber Campus on Lungotevere Raffaello Sanzio. Inaugurated in 2008, the Tiber Campus overlooks the Tiber River on the outside and the shops of Trastevere on the inside. Campus facilities include computer labs and Wi-Fi with unlimited printing available to students. The Frohring Library has online resources and databases and is one of the largest English Libraries in Italy. The Tiber Campus is also equipped with a cafeteria, which includes a bar and seating area, serving lunch during the school week. The Guarini campus has a courtyard on its ground level as well as a lounge with vending machines for coffee, drinks and snacks. These two campuses are within a five minute walk of one another, and each are protected by a campus security guard, so that only those with a valid student ID may enter. The front offices of each campus are located immediately to the left through the main entrances, respectively. The Giancolo residence hall is located five minutes walking distance from the Guarini campus in Trastevere. This apartment-style facility houses 250 students, offering a quiet study area, common room, and a gym. This residence hall is also where the Office of Housing and Residential Life for the University can be found.
