Hitchen is good friends with fellow professional wrestlers Terry Gerin, Don Callis, Jay Reso and Adam Copeland, with Hitchen often referred to by Copeland as his "other best friend".
He was previously married to Sasha Coleson from September 1989 to February 2002, with whom he had 3 children, and to Stacy Marshall in January 2004. He is now married to his current wife, Svenia Hitchen with whom he had twin boys named Connor and Maverick.
