The buisiness operated approximately 60 Health & Fitness Centres all over the UK, which became property of DW Sports after Dave Whelan's departure from JJB.
JJB also ran health and fitness centres in the Republic of Ireland, which are now operated by Sports Direct following the liquidation of the company.

Famous quotes containing the words fitness and/or clubs:
“Parentage is a very important profession; but no test of fitness for it is ever imposed in the interest of children.”
—George Bernard Shaw (1856–1950)
“The true reformer does not want time, nor money, nor coöperation, nor advice. What is time but the stuff delay is made of? And depend upon it, our virtue will not live on the interest of our money. He expects no income, but outgoes; so soon as we begin to count the cost, the cost begins. And as for advice, the information floating in the atmosphere of society is as evanescent and unserviceable to him as gossamer for clubs of Hercules.”
—Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
