Personal Life
Guffey has admitted to having past problems with drug addiction, which he blames for his underwhelming performances in 2009. After leaving Ring of Honor, he checked into a rehab and eventually got a job as the director of the Bartow County Peer Support, Wellness and Respite Center. Guffey blamed his addiction on traumatic events in his life, including being molested as a child, his mother drinking herself to death when he was seventeen, and being locked in a youth detention center.

Famous quotes containing the words personal and/or life:
“The lover never sees personal resemblances in his mistress to her kindred or to others. His friends find in her a likeness to her mother, or her sisters, or to persons not of her blood. The lover sees no resemblance except to summer evenings and diamond mornings, to rainbows and the song of birds.”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“In place of a world, there is a city, a point, in which the whole life of broad regions is collecting while the rest dries up. In place of a type-true people, born of and grown on the soil, there is a new sort of nomad, cohering unstably in fluid masses, the parasitical city dweller, traditionless, utterly matter-of-fact, religionless, clever, unfruitful, deeply contemptuous of the countryman and especially that highest form of countryman, the country gentleman.”
—Oswald Spengler (18801936)
