Famous quotes containing the word education:

His education lay like a film of white oil on the black lake of his barbarian consciousness. For this reason, the things he said were hardly interesting at all. Only what he was.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)

There used to be housekeepers with more energy than sense—the everlasting scrubber; the over-neat woman. Since the better education of woman has come to stay, this type of woman has disappeared almost, if not entirely.
    Caroline Nichols Churchill (1833–?)

If you complain of neglect of education in sons, what shall I say with regard to daughters, who every day experience the want of it? Abigail Adams (1744–1818)
