Academics
In the 2010 Newsweek magazine's annual list of the Top 1622 American High Schools, Jericho High School is ranked 32nd, including being ranked 2nd in New York State. In U.S. News & World Report's list of the Best High Schools in America it ranks 4th. It offers many Advanced Placement classes, St. John's University college credit classes, has among the highest average SAT scores in the country, and spends more money on each student than nearly all other Long Island schools. College placements from Jericho High School typically include a large number attending the Ivy League institutions, NYU, SUNY, and many other first and second tier national institutions. However, there is controversy that there is an inflation of grades.
