Jeff Brazier - Football Career

Football Career

Brazier came through the youth ranks at Grays Athletic, before moving Football League side Leyton Orient in 1996. He was added to the first team squad by manager Tommy Taylor but struggled to break into the first team squad. In 1997 he was loaned out to non-league side Billericay Town where he remained for three months. Brazier retired from professional football in 1998 due to a persistent injury that had hampered most parts of his two year football career.

Famous quotes containing the words football and/or career:

People stress the violence. That’s the smallest part of it. Football is brutal only from a distance. In the middle of it there’s a calm, a tranquility. The players accept pain. There’s a sense of order even at the end of a running play with bodies stewn everywhere. When the systems interlock, there’s a satisfaction to the game that can’t be duplicated. There’s a harmony.
    Don Delillo (b. 1926)

“Never hug and kiss your children! Mother love may make your children’s infancy unhappy and prevent them from pursuing a career or getting married!” That’s total hogwash, of course. But it shows on extreme example of what state-of-the-art “scientific” parenting was supposed to be in early twentieth-century America. After all, that was the heyday of efficiency experts, time-and-motion studies, and the like.
    Lawrence Kutner (20th century)
