Jane Fernandes
Jane Kelleher Fernandes (born August 21, 1956 in Worcester, Massachusetts) is a deaf educator and is the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at the University of North Carolina Asheville as of July 1, 2008. Dr. Fernandes was the former President Designate of Gallaudet University. On 29 October 2006, the board of trustees of Gallaudet University voted to terminate the appointment of Fernandes, who had been the subject of protests.
