Israel’s entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 was Together We Are One by Eddie Butler, who had previously represented Israel in the 1999 European Song Contest. Israel automatically qualified in the final due to Shiri Maimon's fourth place in 2005, but with only four points in the final, Israel finished in second to last place, meaning that Israel would have to compete in the semi-finals of the 2007 Eurovision song contest.
