Early Life
McCoy was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania. In 1789, soon after the American Revolutionary War, the McCoy family of parents and six children, including Isaac, rafted down the Ohio River to Kentucky, settling first near Louisville and ln 1792 in Shelby County. The senior McCoy was a Baptist minister, and Isaac later followed in his footsteps.
