International Food Information Council - Purpose

Purpose

IFIC’s purpose is to bridge the gap between science and communications by collecting and disseminating scientific information on food safety, nutrition, and health and by working with an extensive roster of science experts to help translate research into understandable and useful information for opinion leaders and ultimately, consumers. The people that fund this council are companies like Monsanto, DuPont, and Coca Cola, to name a few.

Famous quotes containing the word purpose:

Our purpose in founding the city was not to make any one class in it surpassingly happy, but to make the city as a whole as happy as possible.
    Socrates (469–399 B.C.)

I am firmly opposed to the government entering into any business the major purpose of which is competition with our citizens ... for the Federal Government deliberately to go out to build up and expand ... a power and manufacturing business is to break down the initiative and enterprise of the American people; it is the destruction of equality of opportunity amongst our people, it is the negation of the ideals upon which our civilization has been based.
    Herbert Hoover (1874–1964)

Satire exists for the purpose of killing the social being [for the sake of] the true individual, the real human being.
    —D.H. (David Herbert)
