Split Rivalries
Beginning in 2013, the Boston Red Sox, Toronto Blue Jays, Atlanta Braves, and Philadelphia Phillies. will form a "split rivalry." Odd years will feature Braves-Blue Jays and Phillies-Red Sox home-and-home series, while even years will feature Braves-Red Sox and Phillies-Blue Jays.
In the West, the Arizona Diamondbacks, Houston Astros, Texas Rangers, and Colorado Rockies will also have a split rivalry. Odd years will feature Rockies-Astros and Diamondbacks-Rangers home-and-home series, while even years will feature Rockies-Rangers and Diamondbacks-Astros.
