ISI has also remained involved in politics. Even DG-ISI General (retd) Asad Durani has admitted that funds were distributed by the organisation to manipulate 1990s elections. There was a report in March 2012 that DG ISI Zaheer ul Islam had suspended the political wing of the ISI.
