Instituto de Banca Y Comercio - History

History

Instituto de Banca y Comercio was founded in 1974 (with the name of 'International Banking School') by Fidel Alonso Valls. Its first location only counted with 2 classrooms and 15 students. The main focus of the school, at its foundation, was to prepare students for careers in the banking industry.

During the next years, the institution started expanding through the island opening six additional campuses. Also, from 1998 to 2004, Instituto de Banca acquired other institutions like National College, Metro College, and MBTI Business Training Institute. In 2005, all of the institutions were incorporated under the corporate name of EduK Group.

In 2007, EduK Group was acquired by the private equity firm Leeds Equity Partners.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

History does nothing; it does not possess immense riches, it does not fight battles. It is men, real, living, who do all this.... It is not “history” which uses men as a means of achieving—as if it were an individual person—its own ends. History is nothing but the activity of men in pursuit of their ends.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)

... all big changes in human history have been arrived at slowly and through many compromises.
    Eleanor Roosevelt (1884–1962)

These anyway might think it was important
That human history should not be shortened.
    Robert Frost (1874–1963)
