Innocence Is No Excuse

Innocence Is No Excuse is the seventh studio album by heavy metal band Saxon released in 1985 (see 1985 in music). It was the group's first album for EMI after a falling-out with their previous label, Carrere Records. The album was a relative disappointment in the group's native UK, only reaching #36 on the British album charts, although its #130 placement on the American charts was the group's highest ever in the USA.

The song "Everybody Up" was used in the 1985 horror movie Demoni.

Famous quotes containing the words innocence is, innocence and/or excuse:

Innocence is lovely in the child, because in harmony with its nature; but our path in life is not backward but onward, and virtue can never be the offspring of mere innocence. If we are to progress in the knowledge of good, we must also progress in the knowledge of evil. Every experience of evil brings its own temptation and according to the degree in which the evil is recognized and the temptations resisted, will be the value of the character into which the individual will develop.
    Mrs. H. O. Ward (1824–1899)

Every act of rebellion expresses a nostalgia for innocence and an appeal to the essence of being.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

My excuse for not lecturing against the use of tobacco is, that I never chewed it; that is a penalty which reformed tobacco-chewers have to pay; though there are things enough I have chewed which I could lecture against.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
