Indiana Christian University

Indiana Christian University (ICU) is a conservative Christian university located in the Indianapolis suburb of Noblesville, Indiana. According to the school's catalog, it evolved from predecessor institutions Indiana Bible Institute (1923) and Indiana Bible College (1934), adopting the present name in 1940. In 1988 it became part of the Lester Sumrall Evangelistic Association (LeSEA Ministries) of South Bend, Indiana, and merged with the World Harvest Bible College in 1993. (This is different from the World Harvest Bible College in Columbus, OH.)

The school does not currently have formal accreditation from organizations approved by the US Department of Education or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation, but it has approval from the Indiana Department of Veterans Affairs for veteran's education for associate's and bachelor degrees. ICU has two main campuses in Indianapolis and South Bend, IN, and several extension campuses across the United States.

Famous quotes containing the words indiana, christian and/or university:

    If the federal government had been around when the Creator was putting His hand to this state, Indiana wouldn’t be here. It’d still be waiting for an environmental impact statement.
    Ronald Reagan (b. 1911)

    Prayer the Churches banquet, Angels age,
    Gods breath in man returning to his birth,
    The soul in paraphrase, heart in pilgrimage,
    The Christian plummet sounding heav’n and earth;
    George Herbert (1593–1633)

    Poetry presents indivisible wholes of human consciousness, modified and ordered by the stringent requirements of form. Prose, aiming at a definite and concrete goal, generally suppresses everything inessential to its purpose; poetry, existing only to exhibit itself as an aesthetic object, aims only at completeness and perfection of form.
    Richard Harter Fogle, U.S. critic, educator. The Imagery of Keats and Shelley, ch. 1, University of North Carolina Press (1949)
