Immaculate Conception Academy - History

History

Immaculate Conception Academy, Inc., Dasmariñas, Cavite was first organized in October 1947. It opened its first class on June 1948 to 67 1st year and 2nd year high school students. The first classroom was the church convent of the Immaculate Conception Parish Church. Later, the school acquired a vacant lot beside the church and built its first two- story building thereon in 1956. In 1979 a two- hectare lot in Ibayo was acquired and a building was built to facilitate the Industrial Arts and Physical Education classes. This also the Vocational site.

A one story building was also rented near the plaza, which is used for the school office, canteen and one room, but it was eventually demolished. For that matter, the school decided to make a third, fourth and fifth floor in the original ICA building, which is now the ICA-SHS. In June 1992, ICA preschool was created following a Montessori system of teaching. Its location is at Pasong Lawin, Dasmarinas, Cavite. Today, ICA has four campuses in Dasmariñas, ICA North in Salitran, ICA West in Amuntay Road, ICA South in Governor's Drive and ICA Science in Poblacion. ICA is a member of the NCAA. Famous quotes containing the word history:

All history attests that man has subjected woman to his will, used her as a means to promote his selfish gratification, to minister to his sensual pleasures, to be instrumental in promoting his comfort; but never has he desired to elevate her to that rank she was created to fill. He has done all he could to debase and enslave her mind; and now he looks triumphantly on the ruin he has wrought, and say, the being he has thus deeply injured is his inferior.
    Sarah M. Grimke (1792–1873)

It is remarkable how closely the history of the apple tree is connected with that of man.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)

To a surprising extent the war-lords in shining armour, the apostles of the martial virtues, tend not to die fighting when the time comes. History is full of ignominious getaways by the great and famous.
    George Orwell (1903–1950)
