Claims As A Fell
Ill Crag is one of very few fells in the lake District not to be given a separate chapter in Alfred Wainwright's celebrated guide books, although Wainwright does give it a page in the Scafell Pike chapter. It therefore does not qualify as a Wainwright, though it is a Hewitt and also a Nuttall.

Famous quotes containing the words claims and/or fell:
“For that is loves nature that it lays claim to exclusive right and that all other claims are nil.”

“I gave him the lead gift in the twilight. What fell was relaxed,
Owl-downy, soft feminine feathers; but what
Soared: the fierce rush: the night-herons by the flooded river cried
fear at its rising
Before it was quite unsheathed from reality.”
—Robinson Jeffers (18871962)
