Biography
Macypura was born in the Soviet Union. He moved to the United States at a young age.
He competed at the national level in the United States, competing twice at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships. During his time in the US, he represented the Peninsula Skating Club. He competed at the 2004 U.S. Figure Skating Championships on the junior level. He won the short program, but placed ninth in the free skate to place eighth overall.
He competed at the 2005 Slovak National Championships and won the competition. He began representing Slovakia internationally in the 2005-2006 season. At the 2005 Karl Shafer Memorial, the last Olympic qualifying competition, he placed 8th and qualified a spot to the Olympics. However, the spot was not filled.
In the 2006-2007 season, he won the bronze medal at the Ondrej Nepela Memorial.
