Ice Cricket - Rules

Rules

The rules for Ice Cricket are similar to six-a-side rules:

Wides count as two extra runs with no extra ball, with leniency given to the bowler as he finds it tough standing up most of the time.

Each team must bowl six overs which means everyone gets a go.

The competition itself depends on the number of teams taking part but the usual format is a Round Robin tournament with top teams progressing to semis and finals.

Teams can have a maximum of 10 players and a minimum of 6.

Also, the boundaries are either snow-banks or are patrolled by officials on ice skates, if you strike a skater an extra 6 runs is added to your score.

Famous quotes containing the word rules:

... a large portion of success is derived from flexibility. It is all very well to have principles, rules of behavior concerning right and wrong. But it is quite as essential to know when to forget as when to use them.
    Alice Foote MacDougall (1867–1945)

A man often thinks he rules himself, when all the while he is ruled and managed; and while his understanding directs one design, his affections imperceptibly draw him into another.
François, Duc De La Rochefoucauld (1613–1680)

Children can’t make their own rules and no child is happy without them. The great need of the young is for authority that protects them against the consequences of their own primitive passions and their lack of experience, that provides with guides for everyday behavior and that builds some solid ground they can stand on for the future.
    Leontine Young (20th century)
