Hypnagogia

In parapsychology, hypnagogia is the study of the transitional states to and from sleep: the hypnagogic and the hypnopompic states of consciousness. Note the spelling difference: "-agogic" but "-opompic". The related words from the Greek are agōgos "leading, inducing", pompe "act of sending", and hypnos "sleep".
