Hunt Class

Three ship classes of the Royal Navy have been known as the Hunt class:

  • Hunt class minesweeper (1916), 20 minesweepers that served in World War I
  • Hunt class destroyer, Destroyer escorts which served in World War II
  • Hunt class mine countermeasures vessel, 13 MCMVs launched from 1978 to 1988

Famous quotes containing the words hunt and/or class:

In communist society, where nobody has one exclusive sphere of activity but each can become accomplished in any branch he wishes, society regulates the general production and thus makes it possible for me to do one thing today and another tomorrow, to hunt in the morning, fish in the afternoon, rear cattle in the evening, criticize after dinner, just as I have a mind, without ever becoming hunter, fisherman, shepherd or critic.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)

There is ... a class of fancies, of exquisite delicacy, which are not thoughts, and to which, as yet, I have found it absolutely impossible to adapt language.... Now, so entire is my faith in the power of words, that at times, I have believed it possible to embody even the evanescence of fancies such as I have attempted to describe.
    Edgar Allan Poe (1809–1849)
