The 2008 varsity golf team defeated Christian Brothers Academy for the first time in school history and won its first ever Freehold Regional District title with a team score of 307. With a final record of 17-2, Howell earned the Public A-North title and tied with CBA for Outright A-North champion. Howell also qualified for the Group IV State Sectional tournament and narrowly missed their first opportunity to attend the NJSIAA Tournament of Champions when they placed third by only one stroke.
