Honda XR Series - XR 250R

XR 250R

For many years, the mainstay of the XR range was the XR 250R. In 1996, the bike was updated, with a new 249 cc air-cooled four-stroke Radial Four Valve Combustion Chamber (RFVC) motor that produced 19 hp (14 kW) at 8100 rpm. The bike had a small oil-cooler mounted on the steering head. . Although it was quite heavy and its front and rear suspension were rather basic, the XR 250R proved reliable and was a successful entry-level off-road machine. It was discontinued in 2004, replaced by the more modern CRF250X.
