Holy Monday - Biblical Narrative

Biblical Narrative

The Gospels tell us of some of the events that actually occurred on the day of the Biblical Holy Monday. Some of the most notable and recognizable of these were the cursing of the fig tree (Matthew 21:18-22,Mark 11:20-26), the questioning of Jesus' authority (21:23-27), the Cleansing of the Temple and some diverse parables, depending on which Gospel is read.

Famous quotes containing the word narrative:

We have defined a story as a narrative of events arranged in their time-sequence. A plot is also a narrative of events, the emphasis falling on causality. “The king died and then the queen died” is a story. “The king died, and then the queen died of grief” is a plot. The time sequence is preserved, but the sense of causality overshadows it.
