Hollywood Blvd Cinema Bar and Eatery - Hollywood Star For Munchkins

Hollywood Star For Munchkins

In addition to annual screenings of The Wizard of Oz featuring the opportunity for patrons to meet and get an autograph from Munchkins in the film, Hollywood Blvd. Cinema campaigned for and sponsored the installation of The Munchkins’ star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. After 2 years of submitting letters of petition (some penned by Hollywood greats Steven Spielberg, George Lucas, Ted Turner, Hugh Hefner and many more) and actively campaigning for the Munchkins to be chosen, the effort ended successfully November 20, 2007 when the star was installed on Hollywood Blvd. at a ceremony presided over by Honorary Mayor of Hollywood Johnny Grant. Not only do the Munchkins carry the distinction of having their star located directly adjacent to Grant’s own star in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre but was the last ceremony Grant presided over before his death on January 9, 2008.

Famous quotes containing the words hollywood and/or star:

In Hollywood now when people die they don’t say, “Did he leave a will?” but “Did he leave a diary?”
    Liza Minnelli (b. 1946)

The eastern light our spires touch at morning,
The light that slants upon our western doors at evening,
The twilight over stagnant pools at batflight,
Moon light and star light, owl and moth light,
    Glow-worm glowlight on a grassblade.
O Light Invisible, we worship Thee!
