Hokkaido Air System - History

History

The airline was established in 1997 and started operations in 1998. Founded as a joint venture, it was an affiliate of Japan Air System until that airline consolidated into Japan Airlines. Hokkaido Air System is owned by Japan Airlines Domestic (51%) and Hokkaidō regional government (49%).

Air Hokkaido ceased operations on 31 March 2006 and its sole route, Hakodate-Okushiri, was taken over the next day by Hokkaido Air System.

Previously the headquarters were in the Terminal Building of New Chitose Airport in Chitose, Hokkaidō, Japan.

HAS is leaving the JAL Group. Japan Airlines will cease ticket handling and reservation services for HAC flights on and after September 1, 2011.

Famous quotes containing the word history:

[Men say:] “Don’t you know that we are your natural protectors?” But what is a woman afraid of on a lonely road after dark? The bears and wolves are all gone; there is nothing to be afraid of now but our natural protectors.
Frances A. Griffin, U.S. suffragist. As quoted in History of Woman Suffrage, vol. 4, ch. 19, by Susan B. Anthony and Ida Husted Harper (1902)

The history of the past is but one long struggle upward to equality.
    Elizabeth Cady Stanton (1815–1902)

The principal office of history I take to be this: to prevent virtuous actions from being forgotten, and that evil words and deeds should fear an infamous reputation with posterity.
    Tacitus (c. 55–c. 120)
