Indefatigable Today
Indefatigable, along with the other Jutland wrecks, was belatedly declared a protected place under the Protection of Military Remains Act 1986, to discourage further damage to the resting place of 1,017 men. Mount Indefatigable in the Canadian Rockies was named after the battlecruiser in 1917. The wreck was discovered by nautical archaeologist Innes McCartney in 2001 and was found to have been heavily commercially salvaged sometime in the past.

Famous quotes containing the word today:
“To the degree that respect for professors ... has risen in our society, respect for writers has fallen. Today the professorial intellect has achieved its highest public standing since the world began, while writers have come to be called men of letters, by which is meant people who are prevented by some obscure infirmity from becoming competent journalists.”
—Robert Musil (18801942)
