The river Helge or, in Swedish, Helgeån (lit. 'The Holy river') is a river which flows through Småland and Skåne in southern Sweden. The course of the river takes it through Kristianstad and out to the Hanöbukten in the Baltic Sea.

“There are knives that glitter like altars
In a dark church
Where they bring the cripple and the imbecile
To be healed.
Theres a woden block where bones are broken,
Scraped cleana river dried to its bed”
