Connection To King's Other Works
Insofar as The Dark Tower series' overall plot is concerned, it is revealed in the seventh book that Ted is essential to the Crimson King's quest to break the beams that hold the Dark Tower up, in turn, holding the universe together.
"Low men" also appear in King's novella, Ur, published for Amazon's Kindle in 2009.

Famous quotes containing the words connection, king and/or works:
“We should always remember that the work of art is invariably the creation of a new world, so that the first thing we should do is to study that new world as closely as possible, approaching it as something brand new, having no obvious connection with the worlds we already know. When this new world has been closely studied, then and only then let us examine its links with other worlds, other branches of knowledge.”
—Vladimir Nabokov (18991977)
“The King said to his son: Enough of this!
The Kingdoms yours to finish as you please.
Im getting out tonight. Here, take the crown.”
—Robert Frost (18741963)
“One of the surest evidences of an elevated taste is the power of enjoying works of impassioned terrorism, in poetry, and painting. The man who can look at impassioned subjects of terror with a feeling of exultation may be certain he has an elevated taste.”
—Benjamin Haydon (17861846)
