Development and Reception
Heart of Darkness took six years to develop. These years were spent creating the game's musical score, the graphics, and the FMV sequences. There was a bidding war to distribute the game which Infogrames won. Other bidding companies included Sega and Atari. Atari had plans to put the game on the Atari Jaguar CD instead of the PlayStation.
The game was released to generally good reviews. The most common complaints were the weak story, short length of the game and the low resolution. However, the game managed to sell one and a half million copies.
Amazing Studio nonetheless went bankrupt after the fight in court between all the authors.

Famous quotes containing the words development and/or reception:
“Men are only as good as their technical development allows them to be.”
—George Orwell (19031950)
“To the United States the Third World often takes the form of a black woman who has been made pregnant in a moment of passion and who shows up one day in the reception room on the forty-ninth floor threatening to make a scene. The lawyers pay the woman off; sometimes uniformed guards accompany her to the elevators.”
—Lewis H. Lapham (b. 1935)
