Honours
Harry Gibbs was knighted as a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire (KBE) on 22 September 1970.
In 1972, he was made a Privy Councillor and sat on that Council three times.
On 3 April 1981, he was made a Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George (GCMG).
In the Queen's Birthday Honours of 1987, he was appointed a Companion of the Order of Australia (AC).
