Hard Rock Calling - Hard Rock Calling 2013

Hard Rock Calling 2013

The 2013 event was moved to the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in Stratford after Live Nation had pulled out of the tender for Hyde Park. The 2013 festival returned to being a two day event, unlike the four previous years which had ran over three consecutive days. The first announcement was made on 5 March, when Kasabian and Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band were confirmed as headliners. It would be the later's second headline performance in consecutive years.

Famous quotes containing the words hard, rock and/or calling:

With reason one can travel the world over; without it it is hard to move an inch.
    Chinese proverb.

Compare the history of the novel to that of rock ‘n’ roll. Both started out a minority taste, became a mass taste, and then splintered into several subgenres. Both have been the typical cultural expressions of classes and epochs. Both started out aggressively fighting for their share of attention, novels attacking the drama, the tract, and the poem, rock attacking jazz and pop and rolling over classical music.
    W. T. Lhamon, U.S. educator, critic. “Material Differences,” Deliberate Speed: The Origins of a Cultural Style in the American 1950s, Smithsonian (1990)

    Yes.
It’s May 20th and the leaves,
    green, green, wearing their masks
and speaking, calling out their Sapphic loves,
    are here—here—here—
    calling out their death wish:
    “A Annenne, come to us.”
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)
