Guadalupe Victoria was a national hero worthy of the nation, a founder and builder of Mexico. There are many monuments, statues, schools, hospitals, libraries, cities, towns, streets and places named after him in Mexico; the most outstanding are Ciudad Victoria, the capital of the state of Tamaulipas, the capital city of Victoria de Durango, Tamazula de Victoria and Ciudad Guadalupe Victoria in the state of Durango, Guadalupe Victoria in the state of Puebla, Victoria City and Victoria County, in the United States; the frigate ARM Victoria (F-213) and General Guadalupe Victoria International Airport.
