Influences and Style
Mr. Weisman has been a great lover of the works of William Shakespeare. Many of his works has been influenced by Shakespeare by not only using Shakespeare character names but often similar storytelling. This includes:
Macbeth, The Weird Sisters, Oberon, Titania and Puck - all characters from Gargoyles are based loosely on characters from Shakespeare's work. The penultimate episode of the Spectacular Spider-Man, "Opening Night", had a majority of the characters acting out a stage rendition of a Midsummer Night's Dream, which interchanged with scenes of Spider-Man escaping the Vault prison and subsequently fighting the Green Goblin.
There has also been an affinity for casting actors involved with the Star Trek franchise in his series. Some have included Nichelle Nichols, Marina Sirtis, Brent Spiner and even Bruce Greenwood from the latest Star Trek film.

Famous quotes containing the words influences and/or style:
“However diligent she may be, however dedicated, no mother can escape the larger influences of culture, biology, fate . . . until we can actually live in a society where mothers and children genuinely matter, ours is an essentially powerless responsibility. Mothers carry out most of the work orders, but most of the rules governing our lives are shaped by outside influences.”
—Mary Kay Blakely (20th century)
“I shall christen this style the Mandarin, since it is beloved by literary pundits, by those who would make the written word as unlike as possible to the spoken one. It is the style of all those writers whose tendency is to make their language convey more than they mean or more than they feel, it is the style of most artists and all humbugs.”
—Cyril Connolly (19031974)
