Gospel Oak Railway Station - Design

Design

The platforms are high above street level with stairs and two lifts one serving westbound trains, and one serving eastbound trains and the Barking line. The North London Line has two platforms and the Barking line has a short terminal platform north of which are two separate through freight tracks which join the NLL just west of the station. Any through service between Clapham Junction and Barking would require new platforms at Gospel Oak. Oyster ticket barriers are in operation.

Famous quotes containing the word design:

I begin with a design for a hearse.
    For Christ’s sake not black—
    nor white either—and not polished!
Let it be weathered—like a farm wagon—
    William Carlos Williams (1883–1963)

We find that Good and Evil happen alike to all Men on this Side of the Grave; and as the principle Design of Tragedy is to raise Commiseration and Terror in the Minds of the Audience, we shall defeat this great End, if we always make Virtue and Innocence happy and successful.
    Joseph Addison (1672–1719)

I always consider the settlement of America with reverence and wonder, as the opening of a grand scene and design in providence, for the illumination of the ignorant and the emancipation of the slavish part of mankind all over the earth.
    John Adams (1735–1826)
