History of Golf Fitness
There were some early pioneers of the combination of fitness and golf. Gary Player, an avid fitness enthusiast, is one of the games most avid supporters of fitness on tour. Golf Fitness Magazine was golf's lone magazine dedicated solely to golf fitness. It was created in January 2007 and continues to grow as more and more golfers take notice of the importance of being fit. Tour players such as Gary Player, Annika Sörenstam, Trevor Immelman, Justin Rose, Anthony Kim, Nick Faldo, and Suzanne Petterson have graced the cover after realizing how informative the magazine was and how important it was to improving ones game.

Famous quotes containing the words history of, history, golf and/or fitness:
“There are two great unknown forces to-day, electricity and woman, but men can reckon much better on electricity than they can on woman.”
—Josephine K. Henry, U.S. suffragist. As quoted in History of Woman Suffrage, vol. 4, ch. 15, by Susan B. Anthony and Ida Husted Harper (1902)
“The custard is setting; meanwhile
I not only have my own history to worry about
But am forced to fret over insufficient details related to large
Unfinished concepts that can never bring themselves to the point
Of being, with or without my help, if any were forthcoming.”
—John Ashbery (b. 1927)
“Did I make you go insane?
Did I turn up your earphone and let a siren drive through?
Did I open the door for the mustached psychiatrist
who dragged you out like a golf cart?
Did I make you go insane?”
—Anne Sexton (19281974)
“... it is use, and use alone, which leads one of us, tolerably trained to recognize any criterion of grace or any sense of the fitness of things, to tolerate ... the styles of dress to which we are more or less conforming every day of our lives. Fifty years hence they will seem to us as uncultivated as the nose-rings of the Hottentot seem today.”
—Elizabeth Stuart Phelps (18441911)
