God TV in Asia and The Middle East
God TV has broadcast from Israel since 2001.
The network hosts major tours to Israel, which include visiting Bible sites and staging events that are broadcast worldwide. The largest tour was in 2008 when 1,800 pilgrims toured Israel with God TV and attended 'A Celebration of Israel's 60th Anniversary'. Held at the Davidson Center alongside the Western Wall in the Old City, this was attended by Jewish and Christian guests.
In 2009 God TV gave the Jewish National Fund (JNF) US$500,000 to plant trees on land inhabited by Bedouin tribes in Israel's Negev region. A coalition of Jewish and Arab human rights groups denounced the project, accusing God TV and the JNF of teaming up to force the Bedouin out of the area to make way for Jewish-only communities.
God TV launched in Asia in 2002. The God Channel can be viewed by cable in cities across India; Indian Television.com includes the God Channel in its list of "best-known spiritual channels." Local programming includes Indian evangelist Sam P. Chelladurai. God TV's Asia and the Middle East regional office is in Chennai, India.
The network started reaching China in 2008, viewable via satellite in Greater China and via cable in Nepal, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong and Macau.

Famous quotes containing the words god, asia, middle and/or east:
“Religion! How it dominates mans mind, how it humiliates and degrades his soul. God is everything, man is nothing, says religion. But out of that nothing God has created a kingdom so despotic, so tyrannical, so cruel, so terribly exacting that naught but gloom and tears and blood have ruled the world since gods began.”
—Emma Goldman (18691940)
“I have no doubt that they lived pretty much the same sort of life in the Homeric age, for men have always thought more of eating than of fighting; then, as now, their minds ran chiefly on the hot bread and sweet cakes; and the fur and lumber trade is an old story to Asia and Europe.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“Unpleasant questions are being raised about Mothers Day. Is this day necessary? . . . Isnt it bad public policy? . . . No politician with half his senses, which a majority of politicians have, is likely to vote for its abolition, however. As a class, mothers are tender and loving, but as a voting bloc they would not hesitate for an instant to pull the seat out from under any Congressman who suggests that Mother is not entitled to a box of chocolates each year in the middle of May.”
—Russell Baker (20th century)
“Biography is a very definite region bounded on the north by history, on the south by fiction, on the east by obituary, and on the west by tedium.”
—Philip Guedalla (18891944)
