Go Bots: Battle of The Rock Lords

Go Bots: Battle Of The Rock Lords

GoBots: Battle of the Rock Lords is an American animated film based on the Gobots toy and TV franchise. This movie was produced by Hanna-Barbera (the same company responsible for the Challenge of the GoBots series) and released to theaters in 1986 by Clubhouse Pictures. It was also the last film released by Clubhouse Pictures. It featured the first appearance of the Rock Lords who were given their own toyline after the movie. These new characters featured the guest voices of Margot Kidder, Telly Savalas and Roddy McDowall. The TV series regulars all reprised their usual roles.

Although initially a separate and competing franchise, Tonka's Gobots became the intellectual property of Hasbro after their buyout of Tonka in 1991. Subsequently, the universe depicted in the animated series Challenge of the GoBots was established as an alternate universe in the Transformers franchise.

Famous quotes containing the words battle, rock and/or lords:

Probably the battle of Waterloo was won on the playing-fields of Eton, but the opening battles of all subsequent wars have been lost there.
    George Orwell (1903–1950)

You have constantly urged the idea that you were persecuted because you did not come from West-Point, and you repeat it in these letters. This, my dear general, is I fear, the rock on which you have split.
    Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865)

The lords of life, the lords of life,—
    I saw them pass
    In their own guise,
    Like and unlike,
    Portly and grim,—
    Use and surprise,
    Surface and dream,
    Succession swift, and spectral wrong,
    Temperament without a tongue,
And the inventor of the game
    Omnipresent without name;—
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
