Glutathione S-transferase - GST Family Members

GST Family Members

Across species, the glutathione S-transferase (GST) enzyme superfamily is subdivided into classes: Alpha, Delta, Kappa, Mu, Omega, Pi, Theta, Zeta, and Microsomal. The following table lists all GST enzymes of each class known to exist in Homo sapiens. The maximum enzyme number for each class found across all species in the UniProtKB/Swiss-Prot database is included, shown in the Max All species column.

GST Class Homo sapiens GST Class Members (22) Max All Species
Alpha GSTA1, GSTA2, GSTA3, GSTA4, GSTA5 GSTA6
Delta GSTD12
Kappa GSTK1 GSTK2
Mu GSTM1, GSTM1L (RNAi), GSTM2, GSTM3, GSTM4, GSTM5 GSTM7
Omega GSTO1, GSTO2 GSTO3
Pi GSTP1 GSTP2
Theta GSTT1, GSTT2, GSTT4 GSTT7
Zeta GSTZ1 (aka GSTZ1 MAAI-Maleylacetoacetate isomerase) GSTZ3
Microsomal MGST1, MGST2, MGST3 MGST3

Famous quotes containing the words family and/or members:

One theme links together these new proposals for family policy—the idea that the family is exceedingly durable. Changes in structure and function and individual roles are not to be confused with the collapse of the family. Families remain more important in the lives of children than other institutions. Family ties are stronger and more vital than many of us imagine in the perennial atmosphere of crisis surrounding the subject.
    Joseph Featherstone (20th century)

... no young colored person in the United States today can truthfully offer as an excuse for lack of ambition or aspiration that members of his race have accomplished so little, he is discouraged from attempting anything himself. For there is scarcely a field of human endeavor which colored people have been allowed to enter in which there is not at least one worthy representative.
    Mary Church Terrell (1863–1954)
