Girl 6 (song)

"Girl 6" is the title track to Prince's 1996 soundtrack album Girl 6. It is also the only song released as a single from the album.

The CD single was released in the U.S. and was backed with the 1982 Vanity 6 hit, "Nasty Girl". Rather than a "Prince" composition, the song was credited to The New Power Generation. The music is credited to Tommy Barbarella, from the NPG. The lyrics are clearly sung by Prince, however, foreshadowing his elevation to lead singer of The New Power Generation on 1998's Newpower Soul.

Famous quotes containing the word girl:

“There are two kinds of fathers in traditional households: the fathers of sons and the fathers of daughters. These two kinds of fathers sometimes co-exist in one and the same man. For instance, Daughter’s Father kisses his little girl goodnight, strokes her hair, hugs her warmly, then goes into the next room where he becomes Son’s Father, who says in a hearty voice, perhaps with a light punch on the boy’s shoulder: “Goodnight, Son, see ya in the morning.””
    —Letty Cottin Pogrebin (20th century)
