Ginger or Mary Ann?

Although Ginger's persona and sultry looks made her the center of lust on the 1964–67 series as well as in the reunion films, it has been proven countless times that Ginger's opposite, the wholesome Mary Ann, has always had a larger fan base. According to CBS's records, Mary Ann received fan mail from men, women, kids, teenagers, etc., whereas Ginger received mainly from men and men only. Bob Denver (aka Gilligan) admitted that he was a bigger fan of Mary Ann and that he believed Ginger "just scared the boys". He also said that when CBS did polls on the "Ginger or Mary Ann?" question that Mary Ann usually beat Ginger 3 to 1.
