Gilbert Bodart - Convictions and Jail Time

Convictions and Jail Time

On 21 February 2006, he resigned from his post at La Louvière after allegations he was involved in a gambling scandal that rocked Belgian football.

On 21 August 2008, he was arrested for complicity to robbery at the Caves of Han-sur-Lesse where he had been working in public relations for a little over a month. On 28 August, unrelated money counterfeiting charges were added.

He was released from jail on 31 December 2008, but his judgment for these two cases is still pending.

Famous quotes containing the words convictions, jail and/or time:

No two people see the world exactly alike, and different temperaments will often apply the same principle, recognized by both, differently. Even one and the same person won’t always maintain the same views and judgments: earlier convictions must give way to later ones.
    Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe (1749–1832)

If, after obtaining Buddhahood, anyone in my land
gets tossed in jail on a vagrancy rap, may I
    not attain highest perfect enlightenment.
    Gary Snyder (b. 1930)

Boys finding for the first time their loins filled with heart’s
    blood
Widowed farmers whose hands float under light covers to find
    themselves
    Arisen at sunrise
    James Dickey (b. 1923)
